Pete Muller

“Let You In” by Peter Muller, is a terrific song with a flawless vocal duet including vocals by Missy Soltero, a songwriter credited on the track who sings in his band. This is worth mentioning because she is not only fantastic but appears to be regularly featured in the band. It’s hard to know everything but it’s easy to know when you hear something this good and want to hear more. And you can because they are on the road this summer, including shows at the Montreux Festival in Switzerland, the Umbria Jazz Fest in Italy and I AM MUSIC festival in Durango, Colorado.

The musical ad-mix between these two vocalists is paramount to the songs they sing together, but Muller is the main writer and composer of his works with Missy Soltero singing and co-writing “Let You In” to her even credit in Peter Muller’s band. That’s the best way I can describe how this duo operate without being a hardcore fan who knows all the ins and outs and ups and downs of it. The song falls well onto my ears as a jazz/easy listening fan, but country and pop lovers will also be magnetized by their diversity. The performance in the video gives a lot away about the actual chemistry between the two, so it’s not to be missed to help wrap your head around them and get into listening to Peter Muller’s back work and how they sound on everything they’ve done. But there’s a whole other side to Peter Muller which in some cases is even more thrilling to read about than his music path which crosses some of his other endeavors but not all. It wouldn’t be right not to include some of that about an artist, but to be honest it’s bigger than his music alone.

Peter Muller is also a very successful businessman, a great surfer, a crossword puzzle creator, a philanthropist, an educator, and Yoga student for starters and not to be confused with being a traveling musician, so he’s not even easy to write about without a lot of details that follow his bio more than his craft. If you really want to delve into all of that, it’s out there to read and revel in for yourself, as anyone will if they do. But my take on his music is that it lives up to his name and if that puts him where he is on the touring scene than he’s earned it. I wouldn’t know from just having heard of Peter Muller on “Let Her In” but there’s obviously more than meats the ears and it puts an extra spot of interest to any music fan when someone does work of his prominence outside of the music, kind of like that of Sting and Bono but without intention to enhance a musicians image. It’s something of an element that brings a larger than life presence to Peter Muller as a musician, but his music stands right up right up next to it and you can get the best of both worlds just by discovering one side of him or the other.
